The U.S. President spoke of a Pastor who said this President will “lead us to a period of time in Christianity that nobody else can do”. Really? Can that possibly be true? Is Trump leading Us into a unique time in Christianity? At first, the answer had to be, no way – not possible. And yet, after reading the article, I changed my response to be “sort of”. Certainly, he’s taking us to a place that’s different. Very different. But – not in the way you might think.
✝️💔This article is written for the souls of people who are genuinely trying to follow Jesus.
Governments, administrations, and nations — in any era — will do what they do. That has been true from the beginning, and nothing I write will change that. It isn’t my goal.
My goal here is more like the little boy walking along the beach, picking up stranded starfish and tossing them back into the ocean. He can’t save all of them. But he can save some.
That’s my hope with every article: to reach the “some” who recognize how deeply the realities in this piece can shape their eternal souls — and who want to walk with Jesus in truth, clarity, and love.
Here’s an excerpt from “Trump says he’ll lead us into a time of Christianity that no one else can do“.
✏️ “I have the all-time, in history, Christian vote. I have the evangelical vote, the Christian vote. I have by — I know more, I know more than anybody,” Trump bragged before launching into an anecdote about “a certain pastor from a place in Dallas, Texas.”
Paraphrasing the pastor’s comments about him, Trump continued: “He said, you know, ‘He might not read the Bible as much as us, he might not know every passage, and he might have some other little weaknesses, but one thing about him, he’s the greatest leader, and he’s going to lead us to a period of time in Christianity that nobody else can do, that nobody else can do.’’’
“And he turned out to be right,” the president added.

Is this about the man of lawlessness / the antichrist?

That’s what Trump said.
But what I’m talking about here doesn’t have to be the President.
It could be anyone who says things like this.
The thing is, it’s a task that must be done.
Questions should pop into our minds here.
Questions like, “What is the task?
And questions like, “Who is this task being done for”?
Will the task be to become the man of lawlessness in the Bible?
The antichrist in the Bible?
Uh – no. It’s not likely for anyone in the U.S. It just doesn’t fit the prophecy.
Why would the devil select someone from the U.S. for a unique position?
Consider what the words say. This is a person with an incredible ego – “I know more than anybody”.
It’s also someone who doesn’t appear to understand that Christians are to compare ourselves with Jesus, with Him as the one we want to emulate. And also, if there’s even a degree of understanding, there’s a huge disconnect with these words: “‘He might not read the Bible as much as us, he might not know every passage, and he might have some other little weaknesses “.
But still, maybe this part’s right: “‘he’s going to lead us to a period of time in Christianity that nobody else can do, that nobody else can do’”.
So – what kind of task would the devil have for such an American? For anyone who might think like this?
I can think of at least three possibilities.
- A trial run for the man of lawlessness/antichrist
- Leading the U.S. away from God
- Bringing the U.S. to a moment of destruction.
Let’s look at these three possibilities, in reverse order.
Bringing the U.S. to a moment of destruction
Have you ever wondered why the U.S. isn’t mentioned in the Bible? Lots of people have wondered about its complete absence. Never mentioned at all. Not once. How come God didn’t know?
Isn’t the U.S. central to the fate of the world? Why is the Bible always so focused on Israel?
Here’s the thing. Actually, a couple things.
First – do we want Jesus to have a side comment like: Someday, a couple centuries from now, in a far-off land that you people don’t know about yet, an amazing country is going to be formed. The greatest country ever. They’ll follow me like no one ever has. It’ll be amazing.
Uh – don’t hold your breath on that one. If the premise was even true, can you imagine all of the side comments that would have to be included for Jesus, God – when He spoke directly to people, all of the prophets, whenever something in the future could be pointed out. The Bible just doesn’t do that. We’re told what we’re told, because it’s all we need.
Second – have you ever noticed the symmetry in the Bible? Everything began in the Middle East. And everything will end in the Middle East. The Bible tells of the origin of Israel. And while Israel ceased to exist, we know today that it’s been reborn as a nation. And, the Bible tells us the end will be surrounding Israel.
That’s the big item on symmetry. But if you pay attention, there’s a lot of symmetry in there.
Now, do you realize what that would mean for the U.S.? What about – just as the U.S. didn’t exist in Biblical times, maybe the U.S. also won’t exist at The End. And so, doesn’t that require someone to be “raised up by God”, someone whose heart is set on evil that God will “allow” to come to power, to bring about the end of the U.S.? And that would need to happen before The End.
Leading the U.S. away from God
However, what if the goal wasn’t to bring about the end of the U.S.? I’m not saying the first scenario must or will happen. I’m saying it’s a possibility.
So, if it’s not the event that will happen, what about this one? What if the goal for Satan is to lead the U.S. away from God?
The Bible implies there will be a one world religion. The name isn’t mentioned specifically, but it does say this:
The Beast out of the Sea – Revelation
And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 2 The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. 3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. 4 Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?”
Rev 13:5 The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months. 6 He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. 7 He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. 8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.
Rev 13:9 He who has an ear, let him hear.
Rev 13:10 If anyone is to go into captivity,
into captivity he will go.
If anyone is to be killed with the sword,
with the sword he will be killed.
This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.
Well, that sounds like a one world religion. If you read the “Left Behind” series, the one world religion felt more like a joke to me. Some people think it’s going to be Catholicism or maybe Islam. But here’s the simple reality – it only needs to be something that’ll take us away from Jesus. And let’s be honest – the simplest, easiest way to accomplish that is with a false version of Christianity. That kind of thing was already happening in the New Church in biblical times. It’s not a new concept.
Let’s face it – someone, anyone, who says the kinds of things in the excerpt above is, at a minimum, on the road to leading people away from Jesus in the Bible.
Just look at this country – openly and honestly. There are lots of people in leadership positions, in both parties, and even in churches that call themselves Christian – that don’t follow Jesus.
A trial run for the man of lawlessness/antichrist
Once again, I have to say I don’t claim to know the future. And so, I can’t say either of the two scenarios above is happening.
Having said that, there is one scenario that must happen. There is going to be an antichrist. All Christians (should) know that. Satan knows that.
But – when Jesus was asked by the Disciples for signs of The End, His response concluded with:
The Day and Hour Unknown – Mark
Mk 13:32 “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Be on guard! Be alert ! You do not know when that time will come. 34 It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.
Mk 13:35 “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. 36 If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. 37 What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’ ”
The point here, for today, is that Satan doesn’t know when the end will come. Doesn’t know when an antichrist needs to be on the earth. So, there’s a need for a candidate to be present at all times. Multiples even, since something could happen to one or more of them.
The question is then, is this the reason the image portrays the devil points at the crowd and saying, “You’re the one”. Not that “You” are the one who’ll be the antichrist. But – “You” are the one from this group of people who is going to be prepped and ready to step into the antichrist role if God’s events play out that way.
And then, if that’s the case, doesn’t it make sense that every candidate for a potential antichrist, to some extent, is also a trial run for the real thing? There are so many people in history that could’ve been “the one” to be the antichrist. Some more obviously capable than others.
The thing to realize is that these people are in the world today. Alive and doing their appointed task from the devil
Conclusion – Is Trump leading Us into a unique time in Christianity?
So, what have we learned?
While any, all, or none of these scenarios may play out for any given person, circumstances, or scenarios, it’s also possible that any of them could be true.
So, what are we supposed to do?
I only included two passages of Scripture in this article. Both seemed to have “bad news” in them. And yet, as the Bible always does, there’s something in there to help us avoid that bad news consequence. To that end, here are the two takeaways to avoid falling victim to a potential antichrist candidate. To not fall victim to the plans of the devil – and to stay with Jesus. Or, if you’re not already following Jesus, to get to know Him – the way He really is.
- This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.
Be patient, don’t react quickly, examine things, people, circumstances, carefully. Know what Jesus actually said, and don’t just take the word of someone trying to convince you of something that’s clearly not rooted in God’s love. - … Be on guard! Be alert ! … Watch!’
The same advice, this time from Jesus.
We can’t protect ourselves from falsehoods unless we know the truth. And we can only learn the truth from someone who knows and teaches the truth.
One very simple thing is to learn about God’s love. If/when we know even a little about how much God loves us, we can begin to honestly, with an open mind, consider the things people say, the things they do, and the things they want us to do – and determine whether or not those things align with God’s perfect love for all of us.
